Meat Bros’ BBQ
The Meat Bros will be firing up OG Texas BBQ flavors – heavy on salt and pepper but you’ll still get some hints of mustard. The Meat Bros’ team brings passion for BBQ and their years in culinary school and the restaurant industry.

MCRCO is thrilled to welcome “Q Shanty” a new competitor in 2024, the Q’s are a family team who loves cooking together and giving back to the community.
Morning Wood BBQ
Based in Brockton and Marshfield, our team has been a fierce competitor in the BBQ scene since 2019. We’re known for starting our cook early—nobody is up before us! Our competitive spirit is unmatched, and our dedication to excellence is evident in our accolades. We were honored with the 2020 People’s Choice Award and clinched First Place for Ribs in 2023. At Morning Wood BBQ, we bring passion, precision, and unbeatable flavor to every competition.
Half Inked BBQ
Two cousins, one with Tattoos and one with none, got into BBQ accidentally at the same time. Greg, with Tats, started on a stick burner. Pat, with out, started on a Pit Boss. Family members independently started raving over the food that was being cooked, and we started comparing recipes. We quickly realized that if we put our heads together, we could make something of this. COVID hit, and all was put on hold. After COVID restrictions were lifted, we hit the BBQ circuit slowly, starting off at local VFWs, then moving to doing one KCBS a year. Still getting our feet wet, we are having fun BBQing and meeting those fellow BBQers!
Smokey Stax
Competing at MCRCO for the first time in 2024, Smokey Stax BBQ is no stranger to the BBQ scene! This mom-and-pop family team has been delighting the South Shore area and beyond with their mouth-watering smoked meats and traditional BBQ sides since 2011. Join us in welcoming Smokey Stax BBQ as they bring their renowned flavors and expertise to the competition!

Saints BBQ

South Shore Smoke Show
The South Shore Smoke Show competed for the first time in 2016 and has been a crowd favorite at the Marshfield Community Rib Cook-off every year since. The team has grown throughout the years and is made up of backyard BBQ buddies who have combined their talents to produce an incredible proprietary pork rib recipe and smoking method that continues to have crowds coming back for more year after year.

Backyard Smokin’ BBQ
After discovering our love of BBQ, we’ve studied and tested many versions of American barbecue. Backyard Smokin’ BBQ believes there is nothing better than your average dude smoking meats from his own backyard. We’re here to showcase our dry rub ribs that are so juicy and tender, you won’t even need our own home made sauce.
Mickey Finn BBQ
Delivering tasty BBQ since 2013. Bunch of friends coming together, sharing a love of BBQ and supporting great causes. We are not pros, but, we promise, you’ll come back for seconds, thirds and maybe even fourths. Every year, we ALWAYS have repeat customers!

Risen from pandemic, this Quincy-based home-brew crew discovered they were better at BBQ than brewing. Hottsmoke competes this year for the first time at MCRCO!

The Rib Ticklers
A family founded team that went from patron to participant. With a passion for barbecue and a collective drive to better the community, the Rib Ticklers are an MCRCO award-winning team; their success only furthering their love of the event and competition. Flavors feature a sweet yet spicy cherry chipotle barbecue with a taste of first place.
Wood & Steel BBQ
Wood & Steel Barbecue started in 2012 with three friends with a passion for backyard barbecue. In 2014 we entered our first competition at the Marshfield Community Rib Cook Off as “Smokin’ Pigs” In 2016 we decided to give it a go and enter a KCBS contest. Unfortunately, the name Smokin’ Pigs was taken, so Wood & Steel was born. We have won various awards since, but are still in search of our first elusive MCRCO championship!
A Simple Pig
