When did you become interested in cooking?

I became interested in cooking in my young adult life when I moved away from home for college.

What was your first restaurant job?

My first restaurant job was in 2014 when I opened up my first restaurant and bar.

What culinary training do you have?

I am trained by other professional chefs in the industry, but my greatest teachers were my mom, grandma, and aunts.

How long have you been a chef/owner?

I have been an owner of Shawarma and Shakes in Weymouth, MA since November of 2021.

What ingredient could you not live without?

I couldn’t live without garlic and spices in general.

What tool of the trade could you not live without? (other than a knife)

I couldn’t live without a spoon to taste.

What is your current house specialty?

Our secret garlic sauce is really the main character of the show! It goes on almost all of our savory items, including the most loved customer item – the toasted Chicken Shawarma Wrap. It has just the right amount of a garlic kick without being too overpowering. Try it and you’ll know exactly what I mean!

What is your biggest selling item?

The biggest selling item is the Chicken Shawarma Wrap in savory and the Baklava Milkshake in sweet.

Do you cook at home?

Yes, I love cooking for my wife and two sons.   They’re big fans of my kafta kabob marination.

What is your personal favorite comfort food?

Every carb imaginable loaded with great quality cheese.

Shawarma & Shakes
This little spot is located  on  Washington St, Weymouth.
I pick up my granddaughters after school on Thursdays. A few weeks ago, we went to McDonald’s and they wanted shakes. But the shake machine was not working. Of course!! 🫨
Last week we went to Dunkin, and they had no donuts, muffins or cookies, only a few crummy munchkins.
So this week, I was hoping to make up for the past 2 disappointing afternoons. So I googled ‘shakes near me’, while at the school, and found this spot. I dont even know what Shawarma is, but the shakes looked like something the girls would be pleased with. So off we went.
Well, their eyes just about popped out of their head when they saw these shake signs!! They agreed they could share 1 shake with Mint Choc Chip, and NO whipped cream. Now the toppings were a huge non-agreement between them. We were the only ones in the store, and I politely asked if we could get 2 small shakes instead of 1 ginormous shake. The very nice lady behind the counter explained they only have 1 size cup. So, I asked if we could get 1/2 of the toppings from 2 different shakes? And I explained the kids just couldn’t agree! She understood the assignment, and was so nice to this ‘tired of the nonsense, Mimi’.
We were handed 2 separate shakes, 1 decorated with the Oreo Cookies & crumbs, the other decorated with the Sour Fruit Rollups & Lollipop, and Rainbow Sprinkles!
These kids were so excited and happy!
While the kids were enjoying their treats, I spoke with the lady about shawarma, falafel, and the other menu items. It all sounds really good. I love rice dishes and I love chicken, so I will be going back to try a lunch meal some Thursday, before picking up the kiddos!

Stopped at Shawarma and Shakes in Weymouth after a doctor’s appointment. First time here and I have to say, i knew I’d be back before I tried the food! The woman working the counter was so pleasant and kind! Answered our questions with a smile
Very happy to say the chicken shawarma wrap is delicious!! (Can’t wait to go back and try the chicken shawarma fries)

our  milkshake tour started recently. Our first stop this year was Shawarma and Shakes. Everything was amazing!! The boys had the Brandin’s blend which they said was amazing. My friend and I split the waffle sundae i with Giffords s’mores ice cream. My friend’s daughter had the gifford’s vanilla. The owner surprised us and brought out friend Oreos with Oreo ice cream which were amazing. My son has already been asking to go back.

Had to come back to Shawarma & Shakes in Weymouth after my post a couple weeks ago where I had absolutely no idea they had dairy free ice cream!
lesson learned, always always ask 🤣
So we got an oreo special shake with dairy free ice cream. They have dairy free milk to make the milkshakes which is absolutely amazing because some places do not. The whipped cream is not dairy free, they were so careful about that, but let’s be honest that part is for me 😛 haha so we did add it to this.
We also grabbed a falafel plate because as much as I said dessert only, I just couldn’t help myself. The pickled veggies are our favorite part.
My only negetive is that they arent closer to Halifax.

Giant spread from Shawarma and shakes in Weymouth. Staff and owner were very friendly and gave us 2 beef Greek salads complimentary with our order. Yogurt sauce was yum and baba ghanoush was fresh and delicious. Kids loved their chicken fingers. I also got a fun Rose drink and rice pudding for later.
Left to right. Mixed shawarma, baba ghanoush, falafel, oreo milkshake, sharwarma fettah, 2 Greek salads.
