Houghs Neck Chowdafest has become a much-loved Quincy, MA community tradition, giving attendees the chance to sample chowder and enjoy a fun afternoon with the Houghs Neck community.

The event is organized by the Houghs Neck Community Council, a volunteer-run neighborhood organization that has been bringing community events to the area for generations.

There’s something extra special about enjoying a bowl of chowder by the water, and Houghs Neck is the perfect setting. The Maritime Center sits at the end of Bay View Avenue and provides a waterfront backdrop for this popular neighborhood event.

Past Chowdafest events have featured numerous chowder entries, allowing attendees to taste different recipes and vote for their favorites. The event has traditionally included both restaurant and amateur competitors, making the competition part of the fun.

And of course, it’s about more than just chowder. Houghs Neck Chowdafest is a celebration of community, local food, and one of the things New England does best — CHOWDA! ❤️🥣

One of the best things about Houghs Neck Chowdafest is that it supports the local community. The Chowdafest tradition helps the Houghs Neck Community Council continue its family-friendly programming and neighborhood events throughout the year.
