Mr Dooley’s has sadly closed it Cohasset location 

What goes on behind the scenes of a restaurant, what inspired your favorite chef or owner to get into the restaurant business!  What’s their favorite tool and what do they LOVE for comfort food!

Today   we will meet  Chef  Pierre Ferreira  chef of Mr Dooley’s Olde Irish Village Pub in Cohasset.  Mr. Dooley’s Olde Irish Village Pub which has quickly ingratiated itself into the hearts of the inhabitants of Cohasset, MA. With its cozy little snugs and a wide array of authentic Irish bric-a-brac, Mr. Dooley’s is a home away from home for many an Irish ex patriot.

Serving lunch and dinner daily, Mr. Dooley’s offers a wide range of Irish comfort food as well as a fine selection of seafood dishes. It has the best selections of craft beers in town and a substantial wine list. However, in the best tradition of an Irish village pub, it is the perfect pint of Guinness that is its signature libation. For quality, service and a large helping of hospitality, Mr. Dooley’s in the heart of Cohasset is the place to be.

 

When did you become interested in cooking?

First interested in cooking at 20 years old

What was your first restaurant job?

First restaurant job was at Finz in Dedham, which is now closed

What culinary training do you have?

All my training was from a friend when I worked at Bertucchi’s in Boston with him

How long have you been a chef?

I have been a chef for 15 years

What ingredient could you not live without?

I couldn’t live without garlic!

What tool of the trade could you not live without?
(other than a knife)

Spoons are very underrated but an extremely useful tool. I have 10 different spoons for different things

What is your current specialty of the house?

Our current house specialty is a chicken curry dish. It is grilled and julienned chicken breast with sautéed onions and peppers, in our Irish curry sauce, atop jasmine rice.

What is your biggest selling item?

Mr. Dooley’s biggest selling item is our Shepard’s pie.

Do you cook at home?

Yes  I cook at home every day off for myself and my fiancé

What is your personal favorite comfort food?

My favorite food is a NY Strip with mashed potato and vegetable
