Lunch at Captain Fishbones , Marina Bay, Quincy. Delicious scrod topped with lobster and shrimp tacos. The weather didn’t hurt, either.

My first time for sunday Brunch. Food was good they make waffles and omlets (only bacon & sausage patties for meat). The atmosphere was great was able to see the  game while eating and drinking my complimentary mimosa. While playing Keno. It was a good time with family. Cant wait to do it again!

Sunday brunch was solid. Mimosas built right. Booths very spacious. Service on point. Great view. Try it out. Get there early.

From the mussel appetizer to the grilled swordfish & seafood Alfredo, an amazing meal. If you make it to Quincy, this is a must stop that will exceed your expections. BTW, the bartender mixes a wicked dry Martini and make sure you ask for Rebecca as your server.

Wonderful food, welcoming atmosphere…scallops are to die for. Highly recommend the cantaloupe martini. Definitely our favorite at Marina Bay!

Great service and great burger!! We sat at the outside bar on the water and it was amazing!!

Great service this evening. Had the scallops which were delicious. Toms burger was a little cooked for medium overall food was good.

Where to Dine on the Scituate WaterFront Restaurant Oro

Located in the heart of Scituate harbor, Restaurant Oro offers fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere, where the highest quality ingredients from local farmers and fresh seafood  are selected and showcased.  10574477_927256597291574_1721829872371227394_n

Jill and Robin King met only miles from where ORO is located. After college they headed west where they discovered their passion for food and entertaining. Jill began as a manager at Copper Mountain while Robin worked at the cozy Café Alpine in Breckenridge.

Their love of the East coast brought them home to work in Boston. Jill at the Boston landmark Top of the Hub, Robin to Hingham’s famed Tosca under chef Kevin Long and then to work under acclaimed Chef Jamie Mammano at Mistral.

A few years later their dreams took them west again, only this time to sunny Santa Barbara. The two teamed up for the first time to run Epiphany restaurant, owned by Kevin Costner. This is where they developed a true style for cooking with local fresh ingredients. This could have been home but their families were just too far away. Jill and Robin decided it was time to head HOME. Jill at the famed South End Bistro, Aquitaine. Robin opened Stella Restaurant working under star chef, Evan Deluty. Inspired to start their own dream, they moved to the south shore to open Restaurant ORO in Scituate, MA.

Here is the Swampie buzz of    Restaurant Oro    in Scituate

Mom and I went out to lunch yesterday at Oro in Scituate Harbor yesterday. What a delightful meal! I had their Pad Thai, the most interesting version I’ve ever had, with their own home made delicious spicey hot sauce, Mom had the Fish Tacos, and we both had the Lemon Squares for dessert. Delightful is too light of a word. One of the chefs is a friend of mine, full disclosure. Go check them out!

Went to Oro in Scituate last night. Ate at the bar and start to finish it was an excellent meal.
Started with cocktails-both the spicy cucumber margarita and the botanical infused vesper were excellent.  Two of us shared the charcuterie tray. All the usual suspects but two things of note. One, they had thick cut bacon on the tray. Wow, perfect addition. Second the crostini were freshly toasted and warm. Very simple but so many places don’t do it and they should.
For our mains I had the lobster cake which was moist, tender and full of lobster. The other 2 each had the misto de mare which was like an unconstructed sushi dish. Delicious albiet small so not for hearty appetites.  We split a nice bottle of Rose with our meal and as it wasn’t busy we were able to linger bit and catch up. Highly recommend.

Love Oro. Consistently great and inventive food; friendly staff and great bartenders. One of the best and most consistent restaurants  on the South  Shore!

One of the best restaurants anywhere. The pork confit is out of the world as is everything else. The staff is fantastic. I recommend to anyone.  Great for an anniversary or romantic night out

My husband and I just tried Oro last night for the first time. The food was delicious, staff friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. The carbonara meal that I had was simply amazing! It was a pleasure to meet Chef Robin as well. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Exceptional place! Chef Robin is a master with his recipes, cooking style, garnishes, and display. Everything is fresh, homemade and special. And as outstanding as the food is, the place is still approachable. The staff are friendly and the place is a perfect balance between relaxed, casual and fine dining. And it always has an outdoor fresh feel to it. Never stuffy. We love it.

Overall atmosphere is very cool…You can have a quiet, relaxing dinner there…Or if you are in the mood for more ‘interaction/buzz’, you can sit at their Bar and eat/drink, hang as long as you like!!:)”. It all just works together so nicely and I need to go more often tha I do;)”.

This is an open air cafe. We had a nice table by the street with a nice breeze. It is also a tapas place. All the “little plates” we’re very good. Just remember they are indeed little but very tasty. You order a bunch and they just come out randomly. We liked it but I’m not sure it is for everyone.

Lunch with my son’s girlfriend @ Galley Bar & Kitchen 95 Front St Scituate. 11665591_10207032218034812_2228027861772344427_nIt has an industrial mermaid vibe with outstanding service, craft cocktails, great beer list and delicious fresh food. We started with blood orange margaritas and shared ahi tuna poke, fish tacos and a duck confit flat bread. Yes, we rolled out in a food coma. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Check out their FB page and click view menu. After lunch, you can walk along Scituate Harbor and visit the little shops. A 5 star afternoon!

Sunday Brunch at the Galley in Scituate Harbor. My Egg Benedict, yes that is correct , single, galleyegg, it’s delicious and the best Moscow Mule I have had. Highly recommend this little place. It helps that I can walk to the Harbor and back home

Braved the hot sun and traffic to meet a friend in Scituate by the water. we  started at TKO Malleys for drinks! Al fresco was nice, as they have a small pier for sight-seeing and umbrellas for shade. I tried a Nor’easter with Crown Royal Maple, ginger beer and fresh lime juice. A good drink. Our little one enjoyed her chicken veggie soup and a walk on the pier.

Excellent Sports Bar with a splendid harbor view totally the best of both worlds. Food was of a great variety from snacks to meals

Very fun and comfortable atmosphere, and the food was very good! Staff was very friendly, would love to go here again!

This has to be one of my favorite spots to go in Scituate. You have to eat outside for sure. The view is amazing. The lobster roll I found was the best around. Can’t wait to try something else on the menu.

Great place! Location is perfect during the summer months try to sit outside . Food is good. Service is great. Beer is cold.

Where to Dine on the Scituate WaterFront Barker Tavern

Barker Tavern is overlooking Scituate Harbor, and centrally located between Boston and Cape Cod, the Barker Tavern is the ideal intimate setting for a unique and memorable dining experience.,date night, special occassions.  Whether you’re for looking a quiet comfortable evening of fine food and wine or a lively meal of hearty sandwiches and cold beer or maybe you need to schedule a private room for all your friends or family, the Barker Tavern is the restaurant to call.

Date  night  at the Barker Tavern Scituate. Bloody’s, Oysters Rockefeller and Clams casino. Highly recommend

We went last night to Barker Tavern.
It was my first time here. The hostess remembered it was our anniversary and sat us right away.
Server brought over complimentary champagne for a toast (classy touch).
The food was very good and came out in a timely manner.
I had the baked oysters that had a creamed spinach and feta over it. Very good and filling.
I also had the 8 oz steak with a bernaise sauce asparagus and garlic mashed. All very tasty, steak was juicy and asparagus perfectly cooked.
My husband had the veal porkchop and the sautéed spinach which melted in your mouth I loved it. He could not decide on sauce so server was very nice and gave him 2 to try at no charge.
The only thing I will say is there was really no ambiance and there was a speaker in the restaurant that was playing the radio but it played commercials and there was talking which I thought was very odd to have while you were eating dinner (very small thing just distracting to hear a voice talking from a speaker).
All in all very reasonably priced meal good food. Just wished there was more of an atmosphere.

barker3We went to The Barker Tavern in Scituate for the first time yesterday. I called for a reservation but they didn’t have anything open in the dining room. I was told that the pub side was first come, first served. We got there around 5:30 and is was filling up quickly. The pub side has their own menu but last night they were only serving off the dining room menu. I had the seafood pasta with swordfish, 2 jumbo shrimp, and a lobster tail. It was in a cream sauce with sun dried tomatoes and greens; it was delicious! The picture didn’t come out so good because I dove right in and then tried to rearrange it to look pretty again; I failed. My husband ordered the chicken piccata and it came with artichokes and mushrooms (he hates mushrooms but has learned to get them on the side and give them to me!). He is really picky about his chicken and he said that this was tender and very good, not too thick. The waitresses on the pub side were attentive and look like they really enjoy working there, chatting up customers and joking. We will definitely go back to try the simpler pub menu and also try to get a seat in the dining room sometime!

Last night we went to the Barker Tavern in Scituate to celebrate our anniversary. The food, as always, was absolutely amazing. We had the raw bar and some dolmathes to start with a Caesar salad. I love that when you say you’re going to split it they bring it to you in 2 bowls. The hubs had their seafood casserole and I had my usual broiled swordfish. Amazing. Everything is seasoned perfectly and you can cut the swordfish with a fork. I love it. One thing we did comment on is how the place has changed. 17 years ago when we were planning our wedding, you got funny looks if you weren’t in a jacket or tie. Last night people were walking in in shorts and polo shirts. The service at the Barker is always excellent.

Went to Barker’s Tavern in Scituate the other night for our fourth visit in the last year. You will be hard pressed to find a better “fancy” restaurant south of Boston. The quality of our meals, the attentiveness of the staff (especially Sal), and the ambiance is unmatched. It is pricey, but the old expression rings true, ” You get what you pay for.”
