Where to Dine on the Plymouth WaterFront -The Shanty Rose Pub

Sharing is caring!

The Shanty Rose Pub  is smaller what you might  call a “Hole in the Wall” place right on the Plymouth Waterfront but does  serve good food and drinks.  Great place to stop in for a drink or a full seafood meal.   Live music most weekend nights! Here is the Swampie buzz of the The Shanty Rose Pub Plymouth

Buffalo scallops? Lobster club sandwich? Yes, and yes. And delicious. It’s the perfect hole-in-the wall. I was skeptical, but proven wrong. Perfectly pan seared scallops, resting in a shallow plate of buffalo sauce, with a dollop of blue cheese dressing in the center. I know weird right? Absolutely delicious! Then my better half Caroline and I split a Lobster Club sandwich…. Grilled bread surrounding plump tomato, crisp bacon, fresh lettuce, and “no mayo added” lobster meat. Set your expectations for a hole in the wall right in the water in Plymouth, and enjoy.

Where to Dine on the Plymouth WaterFront -The Shanty Rose PubBreakfast this morning was delicious. At the shanty rose on the waterfront in Plymouth. It is a little place on the wharf they do a great very delicious breakfast on Saturday and Sunday from 8am to noon. I got bacon and eggs, hubby got the corned beef hash omelet. I tried the omelet it was perfectly cooked and the corned beef hash is homemade. I recommend this hidden fem to anyone.

I love this place. It’s open all year, affordable, and casual.
I was really hungry when I got here. I ordered an 8oz sirloin with rice pilaf and white corn with poblano peppers for $15.99. Deb the bartender was attentive and awesome. They’ve gutted the back room, repainted and redone the flooring, and the front room is next.

We decided  on the Shanty Rose on the wharf in Plymouth. Very tiny inside. We were lucky to score bar seats, Our server, Debbie, was very nice and attentive, Clam chowder- rich and creamy pretty good-not awesome -crab cakes -very good again not awesome but better than some, lots of crab not a lot of fillers, sauce a bit too spicy for my taste. Clam roll- very big clams were sweet and tender but the market price of $21.99 was a unpleasant surprise-I should have inquired before ordering, my mistake. Their fries are amazing! So good I didn’t even need ketchup! A lot of locals, pleasant folks to chat with. Loved the decor in the ladies room-note the last picture! Gave me quite the chuckle! All in all a nice experience

Lobster roll lunch  at the Shanty Rose  Plymouth  It was very good, just the tiniest bit of mayo, a little lettuce on the bottom of the roll. I liked the fact that the roll was toasted WITHOUT and fat at all…..it came with french fries that were almost perfect, very little salt and nicely crunchy. Service was great! This was the second time I got this lunch there, both were equally yummy!!

Where to Dine on the Plymouth WaterFront -The Shanty Rose Pub Lobster Roll

The Shanty Rose, next to Woods Seafood in Plymouth, fun night with an incredible Blues Band whose members have played with incredible musicians, they play on Thursday nights. Night started at 7pm to a packed restaurant (this place is pretty small), we ordered right away some lobster rolls  instead of the lobster dinner special , food came out quickly and was a very good lobster roll served with just a touch of butter and on a long roll which was great. The lobster roll was one of the better ones we had in our journey, service was a record breaker for being slow, our plates were never removed until we left almost two hours later and we made trips to the bar for cocktails as the waitress never stopped back until we waved her down for the bill, all in all a great night out, even with slow service we were too busy watching the band, having fun in this crowded, loud venue, if you can out up with the craziness it is a great place for blues and lobster rolls, otherwise going during a quieter time
