Squires of Hanover Has Closed August 2020
Sad news out of Hanover, long time favorite restaurant Squires of Hanover has closed its doors. They shared on their facebook page that they were closing. The Squires would like to inform all the great patrons and friends we will be closing our doors this Sunday August 9, 2020..We all “Thank you” for your support and friendship over the years! Sincerely, The Squires
The Squires has been in continuous operation for almost 40 years. The former Hank’s Ranch House on Route 53 was purchased by Paul Squires and John Kelleher and incorporated as Squires of Hanover, Inc. in 1981. Apart from the dining area is a full-service bar offering fine spirits, a large selection of draught and bottled beer and a list of moderately priced wine. thee “Casual Dining at Moderate Prices.”
This is the saddest news…always loved Squires found you accidentally many years ago when we moved from Boston to Pembroke. We came in and had the best prime rib dinner ever. It became our go to. Where will I go for my corned beef and cabbage?
Good Luck and thank you for some great memories. You and your staff will be so missed! Great people!I’m hoping that you will make a comeback… you are a beloved establishment… and I’m not even from Hanover! Thank you for your contribution to the South Shore ❤️ Well done Paul, Adam and gang!
Thank you Squires. Our family grew up with you. Many memories of our favorite waitress who always knew where we liked to sit(in the corner under the TV)
More recently, our favorite bartender, Adam (girls night out). Best Reuben on the south shore! (Just finished one) good luck to all of you!I’ve been going Squires since I was 21 years old. I am now 50 years old. My friends and I spent many a Thursday, Friday, Saturday AND Sunday there back in our younger years. I also worked as a waitress there for several years and loved everyone.
Squires was a HUGE part of my life and it will be missed by many.Resolution: Must visit Squires more often…. On this occasion we enjoyed Fish & Chips – the meals were excellent! There were a number of daily “specials” and menu pricing is quite reasonable. The place is friendly and relaxed. Comfort food is featured through the menu. With so many choices, it’s hard to decide. I guess we just have to keep coming back again and again
I haven’t been here for many, many years, and, as we drove by, we decided to stop for lunch. It was a wonderful experience. I had forgotten how good the food was. The bar has been remodeled since the last time I was in. The meal was wonderful, the staff very accommodating, and the atmosphere was indicative of a “local” bar. Absolutely worth a visit. Hint: try the specials.
Had another nice meal with the family today. Kids love the chicken fingers and fries! I had the Brazilian burger with fried egg, and bacon! And it was huge and delicious, perfectly cooked! My wife had a chicken parm sandwich which and sweet potatoes fries! Great place to bring
Family and watch Pats game! Only disappointment was that they lost the game!
