Freda’s Restaurant West Bridgewater Celebrating 30th Anniversary

Sharing is caring!

Freda’s in West Bridgewater has just celebrated major milestone  their 30th anniversary! Congratulations that is such great news and when you see many restaurants closing  after a few years

Freda’s, a family owned and operated full service restaurant opened on Thursday, January 22, 1987, in the midst of a major snowstorm. Opening day was a success despite the raging storm outside, Freda’s out of the way location and the building’s storied past.

Going on 30 years of business, we’ve seen the best of times and the worst of times, and have managed to persevere with the help of our wonderful employees.

Our continued success can also be attributed to our many faithful and loyal customers who consider Freda’s their home away from home.

Set back off the road in a residential neighborhood, Freda’s is the kind of place where you can catch up with old friends and make some new.

The ambience of our restaurant is captured in the essence of its namesake, Freda (Owner Steve Stathis’ mother) known for her outgoing personality and welcoming nature.

Steve’s goal is to offer quality, casual gourmet at affordable prices served by our friendly staff.

Freda’s offers a wide variety of Appetizers, Entrees, Homemade Soups, Salads, Sandwiches, Pizzas and Desserts. Our Daily Specials often include selections such as Grilled Salmon with Pineapple Salsa, Swordfish with Garlic Herb Butter, Dry Rub Sirloin with Port Wine Sauce, Greek Style Baked Lamb & Chicken Bangkok.

Join us when celebrating that special occasion with a bottle of wine and one of our creative sauteed specialties, or meet up with friends for drinks and appetizers.

If Dad wants Prime Rib, Mom wants Caesar Salad, and the Kids want Pizza, then head on in to Freda’s!

Freda’s has been a Swampie favorite for many years

Went to a WONDERFUL restaurant last night in West Bridgewater called Freda’s. It was new to me, beautiful inside the waitress was amazing! The deals were great for a Wednesday night! Just thought I’d share this Intel with everyone who is looking to try somewhere new! I will now be a regular at Freda’s it was that perfect!

We are seated promptly and our waitress was right there to take our drink order. Quickly returns, delivers and off she goes.1 sip and somethings wrong. It’s just tonic water & lime, but it ain’t right. We ask our waitress & she assures us it’s is tonic water. We insist it isn’t right & she dutifully goes and checks. She reports the machine is malfunctioning. AND the owner is running out to get some right now to replace your drink. WOW! Steve Stathis, the owner, knows how to take care of his customers.
I ordered the fried chicken breast & the wife ordered chicken marsala.
The fried chicken was fantastic. Perfectly cooked, lightly battered. Moist and tender and the taste is so good. And the sauce they put on it was very good, not relying on salt for flavor.
The chicken Marsala was flavorful & tender. Delicious. The sauce was delightful.
The servings were sufficient to stuff us both & each have take home bags for future eats.
No bad or ugly here.
I have read mixed reviews of Freda’s here. I can say without hesitation this was a very good experience. They have a sign that says something like ‘we don’t serve fast food. We serve good, home cooked foods as fast as we can’. They lived up to it last night!

I told them all about Fredas because of their $10 buck Tuesday deals.
What this consists of is a soup or salad, and a wonderful entree and for $2 dollars more, you can get a scrumptious and decadent dessert!
Our Waitress was Robin who remembered me from my last visit when we were celebrating my parents new purchase of a vehicle. Talk about a memory!
She is friendly, accurate and quick! She cleared away our dirty plates which is a huge plus for me when I dine out. Our drinks were refilled and extra napkins were given without asking and our meals came very quick considering it was busy in there.
Oh yeah and she brought us out some fantastic HOT FRESH FROM THE OVEN ROLLS!
I ordered the chicken and broccoli Aioli over ziti.
My two friends order the identical dishes and that was haddock Nantucket and that was a piece of haddock topped with cheese and then a breadcrumb stuffing on top of that. They both got the same sides which were homemade mashed potatoes and zucchini.
My friends hadn’t been there in a very very long time and as we were eating our salads, one of my friends looked at me and said, “I cannot wait to come back here!!” To which I replied, “you haven’t even got your meal yet! Wait until you try the seafood here!”
The salad dressing is one that I cannot describe because it’s something you have to taste for yourself! So fresh and everything is homemade! The salad is out of this world!
Anyway, we got our meals and my friends absolutely LOVED their food! Everything was hot, fresh and tasty.
We ordered 2 desserts: Oreo mousse cheesecake and a chocolate chip cookie brownie with vanilla ice cream.
The Oreo cheesecake was HEAVEN!!!!!!!! Light, fluffy and delicious!
If you are looking for some down home, real good food that’s completely homemade, head over to Fredas.

My mom remembered that Fredas
has deal called “$10 buck Tuesday”. What this essentially is, are five or six at meals with soup or salad and if you want dessert, it’s an extra $2. again, the desserts are also fixed and not on the regular dessert menu.  I decided to go out of my comfort zone and try something different. They had a dish called chicken pesto with sun-dried tomatoes and cheese tortellini. I am not a fan of pesto at all so I asked the waitress if I could substitute for another sauce. She couldn’t have been more accommodating!! She offered me an alternative of either Alfredo or a red sauce. I opted for the red marinara sauce. I got the salad with the house Italian dressing which is a creamy Italian and is out of this world!  My mom got the dish I believe is called haddock Nantucket but consisted of was a piece of haddock, cheese on top of that and then seafood stuffing on top of that along with a side of carrots and mashed potatoes. She also got a cup of soup with her meal which tonight was, green pepper soup, that she said was incredible and she ate the whole entire cup which she hardly ever does!  My dad loves macaroni and cheese so he decided on that. He also got a tossed salad with thousand island dressing.  By the way, our waitress’ name was Robin. She was PHENOMENAL!!! She was friendly but not overbearing, she was informative but not pushy and she attended to our every need.  Our food was hot, fresh, and a great deal for 12 bucks! Yes, we did get dessert 🙂  I got a chocolate cupcake covered in ganache with a raspberry sauce, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and apparently the chef makes his own whipped topping which was magic to my tastebuds! I’ve never eaten anything like that in my life!   My dad opted for the tapioca putting forth with cream, and my mom got the chocolate mousse at my persuasion.  All desserts were two thumbs up
