Col Blackinton Inn Owners to open Mac and Walt’s Restaurant in Norton MA
Update Mac & Walt’s Restaurant is now open February 2017 in NortonÂ
The owners of the popular Colonial  Blackinton Inn  in Attleboro  are branching out with their decision to open a new, pub  style rest
restaurant and bar at the former Pattyâs Place on Route 123 in North MA.
Owner Anthony Canova  plans  to open the new restaurant, called Mac and Waltâs in honor of his  two sons, in early 2017.
âWe want to bring the quality and hospitality weâre known for at the Blackinton Inn to Pattyâs Place at a lower price point,â said Canova. The restaurant will feature casual dining including burgers, barbecue and a large selection of craft beers and hard-to-find liquors, he said.
Canova said prices will be in the $10 to $20-a-plate range. He also said he will be working to secure supplies of locally-grown food items from area farms.
The Col. Blackinton Inn, located in a repurposed, 1850s mansion and carriage house in Attleboro, focuses on fine dining, entertainment and functions as well as overnight accommodations.
Canova said the interior of the Norton restaurant will be decorated in a traditional-rustic style and feature a 35-foot-long bar. He said the slogan for the new bar-restaurant will be âBurgers, Beer and Bourbons.â
Canova is part of the  part of the Canova family that owns several restaurants in the area including  Lucianos in Wrentham, and  Canonva Bar and Grill.
The Swampie buzz  on the  Colonel Blackinton Inn  which I am sure will be brought to their new restaurant
My friend  and I had a fabulous lunch today at the Colonel Blackinton Inn in Attleboro. We started off with a basket full of delicious crusty bread that was served with oil and/or creamy butter. We ordered drinks. My friend had red wine and I had a gin and tonic. For our meals we both had the sushi grade seared tuna. My friend had her entree served over salad greens. I asked to have mine served over their scrumptious risotto. The tuna was topped with a mango salsa mixed with other chopped veggies and a tangy sauce. Both meals were exceptional. For dessert we both had coffee and shared a puff pastry filled with vanilla and chocolate mousse, topped with strawberry ice cream, whipped cream, fresh strawberries and drizzled with chocolate sauce. Service was superior as always. Sorry, no pictures. If you have never dined here, it is a must. You will not be sorry.
Colonel Blackinton inn in Attleboro. Yummy and classy for Sunday brunch
Today two friends and I had a delicious lunch at the Col. Blackinton Inn in North Attleboro. We arrived twenty five minutes earlier tha our reservation, but we were seated immediately. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress who took our drink order. One friend ordered a glass of wine, one abstained from alcohol and I had a margarita. The drinks arrived very quickly, as did a basket of crusty bread, oil and butter. The wine was good, but the margarita was so so. The waitress asked how I liked the margarita. I said it was just okay. I had forgotten to order the drink with Cuervo, so I believe that was the problem. She offered to make me another drink, but I said it was my error not hers and that I would drink what I had ordered. Our food order was taken. Two of us ordered our regular meals, maple walnut salmon. One of us had sides of mixed veggies and mashed potato. I had risotto and mixed veggies. My other friend had shrimp scampi over linguine. She asked the waitress about a side of veggies. The waitress said that even though the dish did not come with veggies that she would bring her veggies. The meal arrived about 20 minutes later and, as usual, was superb. For dessert one friend had carrot cake and tea. My other friend and I shared creme brulee, a favorite of ours. We also had coffee.
We have been dining here for years. If you have never dined here, I highly recommend trying Col. Blackinton Inn.
Oh, by the way, when the check arrived, the waitress told me that she would not charge for the margarita because I wasn’t happy with it.
All in all, we had a fabulous meal. The company of my friends was also fabulous.
