Outdoor Patio dining & Kids Menu at the The Quarry Restaurant in Hingham

Move over hot dogs. The Quarry Restaurant in Hingham has a kid’s menu under $12 that may convince you to leave your house with your kids during meal time.On the menu are grilled fillet medallions, burger sliders, angel hair pasta, simple green salad, cheese agnolotti and chicken fingers. All dishes come with milk or juice, and a dish of Hornstra ice cream.  Adults will appreciate the small touches:  paper and crayons, wide doors that fit your stroller, a stroller closet, and a changing table in the bathroom.

IN SEASON – The menu is always adjusting to the region’s harvest cycles. This month we have added beautiful, colorful and edible squash blossoms, sourced from local purveyors. They are stuffed with savory ricotta cheese and basil pesto, then lightly fried. This Italian small plate is simply delicious! ($12).

THE PATIO IS OPEN – One of Chef Greg’s favorite patios was Hamersley’s Bistro in Boston’s South End where one could watch the world go by. The Quarry’s patio offers its own casual scene with string lights, outdoor heaters and umbrellas for shade all overlooking the pond derived from the original quarry.

The Quarry is at 415 Whiting Street on Rt. 53. in Hingham, MA – one block from the Derby Street Shoppes.

Where to Dine at Marina Bay Quincy Port 305 Restaurant

Port 305 is a seafood restaurant and bar  located on the Marina Bay waterfront  that maintains a casual elegance for its diners. Being located near  Boston, this restaurant  has access to some of the freshest seafood around, and it definitely takes advantage of that.

The interior of the restaurant is quite small, with the centrally located bar dominating the dining room. There are only a few booths scattered around the bartops, as well as a small deck outside where guests can gather when the weather permits.  There is a great function room as well.

The menu at Port 305 is very seafood heavy, but those that are in the mo od for something different have several things to enjoy as well.   Port 305 is a sister restaurant to Siros, an upscale Italian restaurant that is around the corner on the Marina Bay  boardwalk

Check out the  buzz

I sat at the bar with 2 friends and we had drinks and appetizers. Erin our bartender was great, fun to talk to, funny and very personable. The apps were very good and the Apple Sangria was amazing. Next time I go I will have dinner but based on what I did eat I’m sure it will be fabulous!

Great food, fun and knowledgeable staff and captivating views… a must go-to spot for a night or day out.

Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful seafood    wonderful service, wonderful view of the Marina bay waterfront. A great experience for our girls night out

Great. Food. And drinks. Really enjoy their  mussels.  I

Great place good food plenty of beers plenty of TVs there. Great views in the summertime. The employees are stellar.

first time out in Quincy after a client meeting and Port 305 was well known by the locals. There are a few bars in the area along the  Marina Bay docks.    Nice view, but we just missed the sun going behind the building which would have brightened up the outside deck a little. We sat outside anyway since the day was great. It was a beer and  app afternoon. The clams and Nachos were good. Pot stickers went pretty fast as did the wings. Reasonable prices and a good beer selection. I can’t imagine there are too many places for the local businesses to head to after work so this place must get busy.

I recently attended a small function here. For a buffet, the food was superb. It was served fresh, tastefully and hot. It was displayed very nicely and the variety was fantastic. The staff was extremely friendly, continually helpful and always willing to go out of their way to get you anything . Great place for a small function.

Sat outside overlooking the marina on a gorgeous sunny day.The quality of the food was excellent.  I had the Turkey Club with Asparagus – fresh and flavorful  My boyfriend   had a burger with pub fries – perfectly cooked and tasty  This is a perfect spot on a sunny day – pricey, but well worth it for the view of Boston harbor.

Here is the  Swampie  buzz of   42° North Restaurant

The cauliflower appetizer at 42 Degrees North in Plymouth is one of the best new wave of offerings I’ve tasted. Yes, it goes beyond the Brussel sprouts with bacon and other dishes. The kicked up cauliflower is so full of flavor it reminded us of General Gau chicken, but so much better.
The restaurant and patio were both doing a brisk business for a Wednesday night. My daughter and I ran in for a bite to eat on our way to the Priscilla Beach Theater (review will be on sister site, but see whatever production you can’t the PBT. It’s wonderful.)
Sorry got off topic.
We split the cauliflower topped with, among other things, scallions and sprinkled with red pepper flakes and also split a salad of greens, cheese, walnuts and pears. But realized as we ate, the pears were missing. Not to worry, the gal behind the bar (the only seat where we could grab a quick bite) was taken back by the omission and had sliced pear delivered to us promptly. It made the salad.
Service was top notch. She even brought beverage refills automatically. And the cauliflower will call my name very soon, I’m sure, though I don’t need any enticement to go to 42 Degrees North or any of its sister restaurants for that matter.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary at 42 degrees north in Manomet last night. I finally splurged on the baked stuffed lobster. It was worth every penny! I’m pretty sure it was the best meal I’ve ever eaten! Hubby had the short ribs which melted in his mouth. We had a wonderful waitress, Christine, who made us feel very special! Best restaurant around by far!

My girlfriend and I went out for our weekly lunch to day at 42 degrees in Manomet. We both had the mix grille steak tip s chicken and shrimp, rice and grilled zucchini. Everything was great. Matt was our waiter and was very good. The bloody was the best I have had in along time!!!!

Just wanted to say thanks for the suggestions about lunch in Plymouth. We ended up choosing 42 Degrees North in Plymouth.42degrees1
We were not disappointed! This place was really good. Nice atmosphere and decor, pleasant staff and great food at reasonable prices for lunch. Between $10-15 for the lunch menu.
We got the braised short rib sandwich, fish tacos (was one of 3 lunch specials) , fried mac n cheese app, and my grandparents both got the fish and chips. Everyone was extremely happy with their meal. But omg, that braised rib sandwich was sublime. I literally didn’t put it down after the first bite. It’s definitely a place to check out. We will be back again.

My friend and I went for our weekly lunch. We went to 42 degrees North in Plymouth on rte 3a. It was one of the best meals my friend and I have had for lunch. We both had the grilled plate and it was cooked perfect. It had steak tips, sirloin steak , shrimp and chicken. It had a spicy rice and grilled zucchini. Also bread with oil and dip. I have enough for another meal and it was only $15.00. The drinks were very good and the bartender and waitress were top shelf. I don’t take picture because I can’t stand to see people on their cell phones while they are trying to eat. I guess I am out of the loop!!!!

Went to 42 degrees north in plymouth with my mother and sister it was delicious as always 42degrees2we started with the mussels in white wine no picture as we dug right in we always get them and the were perfect as usual! My sister got a crock of there french onion soup and the appetizer eggplant napoleon as her meal they both were very good only gripe was she found two pieces of onion skin in the soup. My mother got the stalter chicken with mushroom bacon risotto and spinach it was delicious. I got the beef short ribs with root vegetables and mashed potatoes they were melt in your mouth tender. We go there often and always leave full and happy drinks were yummy as well my mother had her tried and true bacardi and diet I got a red sangria and Moscow mule my sister had a specialty drink and a Moscow mule if you haven’t been yet you need to try it!

We ended up going to 42 Degrees North tonight. It was phenomenal!! We got lucky with 2 seats at the outdoor bar and our bartender was awesome!! The drinks, food and service were 12002905_10153140000879856_4824076722907453701_nincredible!!! We shared the antipasto board for an app and both got 2 lb baked stuffed lobsters. There were 4 claws, shrimp and scallops and the entire tail in the lobsters. I couldn’t even touch my sides. Enough of everything left over for tomorrow nights dinner. We’ll definitely be going back!!

Being a weekend we included our men in today’s adventure. Looking for outdoor seating on a beautiful day we went to Plymouth, and had seen good reviews on 42 Degrees N. We hadn’t thought about whether it was on the water (it wasn’t) but they DID have lobster roll on the menu. 3 out of 4 of us ordered it. Ok, SO FAR- THE BEST! Grilled hotdog roll, small amount of mayo and celery- not quite undetectable, thin chives/a seasoning or herb, not quite sure but GREAT flavor. Little bit juicy, tender, felt much fancier yet true to itself than the others that now in comparison felt more “fast food” or “take out”. Of course In fairness, having a fun summer cocktail with it may have helped give it an edge- we did say in a previous post that atmosphere may sway our opinion. Haylee our waitress was great, and dealt well with our silly selves- good for you Haylee!! All in all our rolls were fabulous, only thing that could make it more perfect would be being oceanfront- ok, well Ruth may have liked less claw but overlooked that because of flavor. A side note, appetizer calamari was decent, beet salad with pistachio and goat cheese lovely, dessert decent, company excellent as always!

Where to Dine on the Quincy WaterFront Tony’s Clam Shop

Where to Dine on the Quincy WaterFront Tony's Clam Shop Tony’s Clam Shop,  is   local favorite   that has been  on Wollaston  beach in Quncy   for over 50
years.   It is casual dining where you order at the counter.   They  cook all all  menu items to order as a commitment to excellence our customers remain loyal to. They use only the freshest seafood and produce items available. We are proud of our  longevity in the business. We attribute that to our commitment to excellence and our loyal
customers.

Tony’s menu is full of comfort favorites such as hot dogs and burgers, seafood options, and even Middle Eastern specialties, like tabouli and falafel! Tony’s has their liquor license giving customers a variety of beers and wines to choose from.

Here is the Swampie buzz of the Tony’s Clam Shop on Wollaston Beach

Tony’s Clam Shop, in Quincy. I wasn’t all that far at the time so, figured to stop in. For a first, I parked around back, which quickly turns residential. Inside, I was soon greeted at the Whole Belly Clams at Tony's Clam shop Wollaston Beach Quincy counter. Was a tad undecided. I almost got the Seafood Platter but, instead went with a 2-way of Whole Belly Clams and Scallops. With a good pour of draft Cisco Whale’s Tale.
I enjoyed every bite. Clams tasted of the sea. Scallops were impressive. Big surprise was the cole slaw. So much better than before.
As always, well worth the trip!

I’ve lived here 32 years and had not yet eaten at Tony’s Clam Shop on Quincy Shore Dr in Quincy. Since we needed to celebrate Father’s Day early and the weather was fabulous we Crab cakes at Tony's Clam shop Wollaston Beach Quincy headed to Quincy Bay for seafood. Our dishes didn’t disappoint. Crab cakes were mostly crab with a tasty remoulade sauce. Shrimp were some of the freshest I’ve had in some time. Good fries cooked well. Even the cole slaw was crunchy with a good sauce and I’m fussy about my slaw. Sitting outside with great views of the Boston skyline and the water is fabulous but tempered by the four lanes of traffic at your feet. Great food but $$$$. Constant stream of customers must mean it’s worth the price!

Tony’s Clam Shoppe is awesome. I grew up going there as a Quincy kid. Anyhow, this is the broiled fish dinner. It’s a generous portion of haddock (I had already eaten at least 3 ounces before taking the picture) with lots of rice and salad for $18.95. Three meals worth for me (at least).

Pit stop in Quincy, at Tony’s Clam Shop. Across from Wollaston Beach. For a first, we tried their Lobster Roll with melted butter. Gets its own section on the board. It is $22.95 and delightful! Along with a combo plate of deep fried shrimp and scallops.Lobster Roll Fried Shrimp plate at Tony's Clam shop Wollaston Beach Quincy
We soon realized that picking off delectable bites was better than trying to bite into the overstuffed roll. So much! The deep fried was done to perfection. Batter and all.
Service is exceptional in terms of asking for condiments like lemon slices, mayo and cocktail sauce.
Needless to say, we are big fans.

Tony’s clam Shop in Quincy… What can I say that isn’t obvious from this picture? Hands down, the best fried clams I’ve ever had. And I’ve eaten more than my share. I’m ruined now. Not a trace of grit or sand anywhere. Ridiculously fresh, crispy coating, tender as could be. I want more right now.

HANDS DOWN one of best seafood in and around new enland ..im crazy about my seafood and bow im crazy about tony’s…absolutely incredible….great prices and our plates were stacked high….very intimidating an worth the ride….ill be back for sure

I really loved the place.. The mouth watering and delicious food along with the fresh and lovely breeze was enhancing the beauty of Wollaston beach and flavor of summer.. We ordered fish and chips and a full plate of lobsters fry.. The quantity was too good and the price was quiet reasonable..I went with my husband and we both couldn’t finish the meal, due to its quantity, we were over loaded..

Here is the Swampie buzz of the The  Inn at the Bay Pointe in Quincy

The Inn At Bay Pointe in Quincy on the waterfront!
I had mouthwatering mussels in a white wine garlic + sauce. I’m afraid I had had 2 drinks so it looks a little blurry today!!point is, I’d get them again!!! Bon appetit!!

We had a pre-birthday celebration @ Inn @ Bay Point last night. Per usual the food was 13254495_1112416075466527_3522686653623408071_nAMAZING & our server Danielle was top notch !! Great night with family & loved ones. !!

Service was impeccable, stuff knowledgeable, fast, attentive, visually pleasing and “patient”
Portions were largr  generous, cost reasonable and arrangement and presentation mouth watering. Forget about the cherry on top … The part when we’re overlooking the marina and feeling the breeze on a beautiful outdoor patio.

From the moment I walked in to the second I left it was an awesome experience. The food was top notch! Staff happy, helpful and efficient. I recommend this restaurant experience to anyone.

My sisters and I went here for first time yesterday on Mother’s Day after seeing it advertised on talked about online  at the swampie  The atmosphere, staff, and food were all great. The portion sizes were huge too. We tried the prime rib and baked stuffed lobster everyone was satisfied. After dinner, we went outside in back to the gazebo and took some pictures. We definitely will be going back there!

Wonderful food! beautiful view! best the best thing to do is always have reservations  especially on a summer weekend  so you can just get right in and enjoy yourself but walk-ins are always welcome.

Excellent restaurant and amazing meal!!!! We got the oysters as an appetizer, the 2 lb. baked stuffed lobster, and broiled scallops…. oh my yummy

Went for my 3rd time tonight with my hubby  and sat outside on the deck. Had about a 20 minute wait for an outdoor  table so grabbed a drink at the bar and enjoyed the views. Beautiful weather with good drinks and great food. I got the seared shrimp and scallops and hubby  got the blackened chicken pasta. We both loved our meals, but I think his won. The pasta sauce was delicious. Will definitely be back again this summer.

Great spot for a casual  lunch. Everyone’s food  was delicious and service was on point. Two overflowing bread baskets for our large  table of 6, calamari was fresh with a delicious aioli, steak was tender, scrod was light and flaky, swordfish melted in your mouth, and I was extremely happy with my cobb salad with added shrimp. Will def be back soon.

After not having a great experience, I wantedto try again  My husband and I went on a Monday night.  Got seated right away at a water front table. Had an excellent waitress named Maria  that was new but never would of known it, friendly personable checked in wiht us when needed . She did an outstanding job. Got the scollops and lobster risoto. Was delicious husband got the lobster mac and cheese was also good.

New Breakfast Place Mike’s Real Deal Diner Stoughton MA

Mike’s Real Deal Diner is new    casual American-fare restaurant at 1261 Park St    Route 27  just past the Brockton line in Stoughton MA. It serves breakfast all day long    The location has been  home to several former stores, including D’Angelo Sandwich Shops, Mike’s Convenience Farms and Mike’s Donut Shop.

Owner and  Chef Michael Hartery was  formerly a corporate chef with the Boston-based Back Bay Restaurants Group, which operates 35 food service establishments in New England.  Since its mid  May  opening in it has been a Swampie favorite.

Finally tried Mike’s Real Deal Diner!! I had the florentine eggs Benedict. It was awesome! I florentine eggs Benedict at Mike's Real Deal Diner Stoughton Brocktonwould have preferred a little more of the sauce but next time I’ll just ask for a little extra! The home fries were fantastic! Server was attentive and friendly. I’ll def be going back

Mike’s Real Diner today for lunch..place was popping after 1:00..Sharon, our waitress was friendly and on point with our service..I met some old friends there, who shared a good hint, I’ll pass along…if you want a salad or sandwich, get a half salad and a half sandwich… plenty of food..we got the Cuban sandwich, and a Greek salad..we did a world tour, without leaving Stoughton..lol they were delicious..the salad was chopped, which is my favorite…Michelle, the owner came to chat with us,and we wished her well. She is so thrilled for all the community support, and she said, they are striving to continue on with excellent service, and quality….they hit that nail on the head today.

We went to Mike’s Real Deal Diner. Both my friend and I got the cheese omelette ($5.99) and you can pick from a list of add ins for $.75 each. These are a bit “brown”, I guess you could Breakfast served all day at Mike's Real DealDiner Brockton Stoughton line say but I like my eggs COOKED! So I kinda like it like this. The home fries, we both asked for them to be well done. My friend didn’t like them, simply because she didn’t care for the seasonings they use. As for me, I did. They use (I’m guessing) a blend of Italian seasonings. You also have a choice if you don’t want home fries you can get Boston baked beans. I love that idea, Percy’s does that too.
You have your choice of toast, I got sour dough, she got a grilled English muffin. They accidentally brought her out toast and quickly caught their mistake. I had only wished my bread was toasted more.
Service was excellent, very friendly and on top of things.
I took a picture of the sign they had. Every day they write a new “Inspiration of the Day”. Thought it was a nice touch.

Went to Mike’s real deal diner in stoughton, again. Lol. Girlfriend got the fish and chips, I got fried chicken and a waffle. For $9 that’s a really good fish and chips plate. Good portion size and nice quality fish and breading.Chicken & Waffles Breakfast at Mike's Real Deal Diner Stoughton Brockton
Now let me tell you about the fried chicken…
Wow. It was really good. To compare I finally had the fried chicken that Kinfolks offers last weekend at the Swamp mob. It is definitely a contender to Kinfolks. It’s not seasoned the same, the breading is just a tinge different, but the overall quality is top notch. Between this and Kinfolks it’s close. I think I like Kinfolks just a little bit better, but I can get this every day of the week. If you want good fried chicken it’s a great choice.
I mentioned offering a dinner plate. Michelle said they’ll plate it anyway you want it. They aim to be flexible with the menu that way.
The waffle was good too, lol.

Just had a delicious meal with my kids. Food was excellent. I had a turkey club, my son had grilled chicken sandwich with fries and my daughter had the chicken broccoli and ziti. We all loved our meals, everything was nice and fresh! Huge portions too.
Everyone there was so friendly. Can’t wait to try breakfast there!!

Our waitress Kayla was super sweet and helpful! Met Michelle (an owner) after our breakfast…just as lovely as Kayla! My husband ALWAYS gets the same thing; 4 eggs, over easy, ham, potatoes and toast! Today he got real crazy and ordered RYE, not white! Taking a ride on the wild side was he!!! I decided to order my standby (western omelette with American cheese, home fries, rye toast and a side of bacon…just to taste it!!!). In addition, we ordered a chicken, broccoli, ziti to go for our daughter. I was very happy…he was moderately happy!! He said his eggs were dynamite! This is what he bases his breakfast experience on…egg flavor!!! He was not happy with his homefries…I LOVED the homefries!!! And let’s face it, he’s skinny, I’m fat! I am a potato whore, he just eats it as a filler!!!! Ok, now that I’ve got that off my chest! So, my omelette…delish!! First thing, all the goodies you add to your omelette is mixed into the egg! Then, cheese is placed on the omelette and it’s flipped in half! I was SO happy by this! I was worried because I felt the eggs were a bit brown on the outside. But they were not over cooked and tasted amazing! John said it had to be the flat top! I hope as the flat top gets broken in the eggs won’t be as brown. This was purely a visual thing for me! Ok, back to potatoes! They were diced on the smallish side. They were crispy, they were seasoned nicely! I found nothing wrong! My hubby said he felt like they had an after taste…I, again, found nothing! And I AM the potato expert!!! Rye toast was thick and toasted perfectly and topped with BUTTAHHHHH, not fake stuff! My bacon, super crispy without being well done! Perfect! Very good coffee too!! Daughter LOVED her chic/broccoli/ziti! A bit peppery, but nice garlicky sauce…not Alfredo!!!! I was happy! He was happy! She was happy! We will be back! Michelle…next time I’m getting that pot pie!! Daughter said she’s looking forward to the shepherds pie!!!! Price was $34+\- for two breakfasts and a lunch and two coffees, and two extra sides! Very reasonable! Good luck Mikes Diner!!! Hope you’ll be here for a long time to come!!!!
